Today we are going to dive into the different setting options in Remind, and what they can do for you!Ĭlass settings differ from account settings in that they are specific to that class. One of the most beneficial things you can do when getting acquainted with any new program is familiarizing yourself with it’s settings and features. There are many options in the settings section, and getting acquainted with them will help you personalize your experience with Remind. If you are unsure how to embed a code on your site, simply click the link and instructions will walk you through it. That means that anytime you post an announcement on Remind, it will automatically post to the site as well. School websites, sports sites, the possibilities are endless! By embedding this code, you link your announcements to your website. This section is awesome, because it provides an embed html code for you to put on any website you may use. The last section of the account settings I want to dive into is the widgets section. If a parent or student messages you outside of the hours designated, they receive a message that tells them that office hours are closed, and you will respond when they reopen. However, the best part of this section is the office hours! By setting up office hours, you are able to set some boundaries about when you receive messages. ![]() In this section you can determine how you receive updates on messages sent to you in Remind, you can determine if you want to allow calls, and even if you want people to be able to reply to your messages. The next section is the notification settings, and we are going to look a bit more in depth there. There, you can change your picture, name, password, etc. ![]() The first section is the profile settings. To locate these, select the drop down menu next to your name on the top left corner, then choose account settings. Try sending a welcome message to your entire class to let them know how you'll be using Remind. Every class code is unique, like US residents only. Or, you can ask people to text your class code to the phone number 81010*. They'll receive easy-to-follow instructions for joining your class. If you have cell phone numbers or email addresses, you can add people directly. It also makes it easier for them to find and join your classes.Ĭreate a Remind class for each group you’d like to reach, such as different class periods, parents who speak certain languages, or extracurricular activities. Linking to your school helps you connect with others using Remind at your school.
